Petros Chrisostomou is a New York-based British artist and photographer who currently causes a stir in the world of artists and non professionals with his larg-scale installations. His work with small-scale, ordinary objects shows familiar and ephemeral things of the everyday life in an unusual, tiny context. In his photographs they seem to increase and occupy the space they’re in. The alteration of scale reversal the relation between object and environment, challenging the viewer’s visual certainties. Petros’ photographs, often employ lighting and staging conventions of the theatre, transferring the audience in the mind of the enchanted world of Alice in Wonderland. His constructions of a surrealistic reality create a world in between imaginary and real space, a twilight between the trivial and the extraordinary.
