Proving that the most imaginative design solutions come from keen observation, the Swedish designers Shane Schneck and Clara von Zweigbergk have taken matchbox design to novel heights by giving star treatment to the part of the matchbox usually treated as superfluous. In creating Strike, they traded in the standard phosphorus matchbox strip for a series of all-over geometric patterns made from the phosphorus element itself, turning the entire matchbox into a striking surface and an uncommonly beautiful object from any angle, to boot.
